ABOUT PURDIE STUDIO - BRAND & WEBSITE DESIGNER LONDON

Some people find me at exactly the right moment.

I hope you're one of them.

I work with experienced professionals who are ready to stop building someone else's vision and start showing up properly for their own.

If you've found this page, something has probably shifted.

Maybe you've left a role, or you're about to.

Maybe you've been doing good work for years but the way you present yourself online hasn't caught up.

Maybe someone looked you up recently and what they found didn't do you justice, and you felt it.

You're not starting from scratch. You have experience, reputation, and something real to say.

What you need is someone who can help you say it in a way that actually lands.

You're in the right place.

Here's what makes this moment harder than it looks.

You've spent your career being good at what you do. But that career probably happened inside someone else's structure — their brand, their processes, their way of presenting things to the world. You borrowed their identity while you built your expertise.

Whether you were inside a large organisation — a bank, a public service, a corporate brand — or moving between clients inside an agency, the result is often the same. You became highly skilled at serving someone else's vision. And now you're building your own.

That's a significant shift. And most of it is invisible to the people around you.

That's where I come in.

Why listen to me? Because I've been on both sides of this.

I'm Purdie — a brand strategy and identity designer based in London.

I grew up in Australia, where I studied graphic design the traditional way: foundations first, craft before shortcuts. Then I moved to the UK and built a career that has taken me inside some of the world's most recognised organisations. Names you'd know.

I've worked in agencies handling multiple clients at once, and I've worked in-house inside single brands, close to the product and the people making decisions. I understand how communication works differently in both — and how easy it is, in either, to feel like your best thinking never quite makes it through to the end result.

That's why I left. And why I built Purdie Studio around direct relationships. Working with the person whose name is on the door, whose reputation is on the line, who has something genuinely worth saying.

With over 20 years of experience across brand strategy, identity design, and the digital space, I now work exclusively with people at this particular moment.

Experienced professionals stepping out on their own, ready to build something that's entirely theirs.

I know what it takes to find your footing somewhere new. I've done it more than once.

What it actually looks like to work together.

Every project starts with a conversation.

Not a form, not a brief… a proper conversation to understand where you are, what you're building, and what's getting in the way of how you're being seen right now.

We find the thread

Before anything gets designed, we get clear on who you are, who you're for, and what makes you genuinely different. This is the part most people skip, and it's the part that makes everything else work.

We build the presence

Whether that's a visual identity, a Squarespace website, or both. Everything we create is built from that strategic foundation. Nothing gets made for the sake of it. Every decision has a reason.

You leave with something you're proud to put in front of people

Not just a logo or a website. A presence that reflects the weight of what you've built, and gives you the confidence to keep showing up for it

Why this work matters to me… like, properly matters.

Two clients changed how I think about what I do.

The first was a dietitian who had spent years inside a large healthcare organisation. She was skilled, she was experienced, and she knew exactly who she wanted to help — but the system she worked within wouldn't let her work in the way she knew was right. So she went out on her own. We built her brand and her first web presence together, and watching her step into that felt significant. Not because of how it looked. Because for the first time, she had something that was entirely hers.

The second was a consultant who had spent decades building a reputation inside one of the UK's largest public services. When he stepped out on his own, people who wanted to work with him couldn't find him. There was nothing online that matched what he actually brought. We changed that. And I could see the shift in him when he finally had a presence that reflected what he'd spent his career becoming.

Both of them reminded me that this work isn't really about design. It's about giving someone the confidence to be visible as themselves, and to back themselves enough to keep going.

That's what I show up for.

A few things worth knowing about me.

  • I will always tell you what your brand needs based on strategy. Not just what might feel easier in the moment. Every decision we make together will be grounded in what's right for your business, so you can move forward with confidence rather than second-guessing yourself… or me.

  • My attention to detail is not something I switch off. Ever.

  • I take deadlines seriously and I'll always tell you where things are. You won't be left wondering what's happening or when.

  • That said, I don't think good working relationships have to be rigid. I genuinely enjoy getting to know the people I work with, what they're building and why, and what's going on in their world beyond the project.

  • I'm based in London and work with clients across the UK. If you're nearby, I'm happy to meet in person. If you're not, I'm very good on a call.

Ready to do the hard work for yourself?

If something on this page has landed… if you recognise yourself in any of it

I'd love to hear from you.

Tell me where you are and what you're trying to build. We'll take it from there.
