BRAND IDENTITY AND WEBSITE FOR FRENCH WITH FLO
Flo is a French language teacher based in London, working with adults who want to build, rebuild or sharpen their French for work, travel or pleasure. When she came to Purdie Studio, she had students, experience and a name she loved — French with Flo — but nothing to show someone who wanted to find her online. This project was a brand identity and Squarespace website built to give her practice the presence it deserved.

Flo needed something professional to point people towards. A visual identity that felt warm and considered, and a clean, focused website that introduced her approach, set out her services, and made it easy for a prospective student to get in touch. The brief was deliberate about what it was not: not a corporate language school, not a generic tutor-for-hire. Something that felt like her.

The thinking happened through conversation rather than a formal brief. Understanding who Flo was teaching — adult professionals who wanted to be taken seriously, not made to feel like students in a classroom — shaped every decision that followed. The brand needed to feel like Flo: warm, direct and quietly confident about the language she loves.

The visual identity draws on a warm, editorial palette. The kind of tones that suggest Parisian stationery rather than a language school brochure. The logo treats ‘French with Flo’ as a complete phrase: a wordmark that is personal and distinctive enough to carry the identity on its own. Typography pairs elegance with readability. The overall feeling is European without being cold, and professional without being stiff.
